About Irene

Hello!  Allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Irene.  I am a licensed massage therapist and a 2014 graduate from Irene’s Myomassology Institute. I have long had a passion for helping others and it is my aim, that through massage, clients may find stress reduction and feel their best.

In addition to massage therapy, I have training as a group fitness instructor and a physical therapist assistant.  Over the years I have continued my studies in body work and health care to expand my skills and knowledge to all aspects of our being – body, mind, and spirit.  My studies include courses in Myofascial release, Craniosacral therapy, cupping, kinesiotaping, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Yoga teacher training (200 hours), and Reiki (I & II).

I offer several massage modalities from which you can choose beginning with a basic Swedish massage. Or, you may choose a massage tailored to your specific concerns which may contain a combination of myofascial release, cupping, stretching, or instrument assisted massage. There is also Thai yoga massage, prenatal massage, table Thai combo and Reiki (see description and fee schedule).  Hot stones will be available in the near future.

Reiki

The National Center for Complementary & Integrative Health, 2015, defined Reiki as “… a complimentary health approach in which practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above a person, with the goal of facilitating the person’s own healing response.”

Reiki is done with the person fully clothed.  The practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above certain areas of the body such as head, ears, heart center, abdomen, shoulders and hands, hips and feet.  Many of the areas of placement are over energetic areas of the body that contain endocrine glands and nerve plexuses.  The body has its own innate ability to heal and as the practitioner, I am merely a facilitator of that healing.  The healing may be emotional as well as physical.

Hot Stones (Not available at this time, but anticipated in Dec 2020)

This massage is probably the most relaxing massage there is ðŸ˜Š.   This 90-minute session uses basalt stones, which have been heated in water and applied to various parts of the body (such as the low back).  Warm stones are then also used as tools in the massage. The stone massage helps to reduce stress, and may increase circulation, relive pain, facilitate relaxation of tight and sore muscles.  Cool marble stones are used on the face and may help to open sinuses and relieve congestion.

         90 minutes - $140
